A summer associate at Brian Berkley’s law firm, where Joe’s case is being fought

A concise character showcase in which a generous reaction reveals an entire working relationship.

Lucas invites the associates to Friday drinks, then understands what Maddie is choosing when she stays on the case. His approving thumbs-up recognizes a colleague taking a meaningful professional step.

Performance opportunity
The actor can play the discovery inside the response: an easy invitation becomes respect for someone else’s decision. Familiarity with the group and attention to Maddie give that gesture its warmth. There is room for an emerging performer to establish charm without forcing the moment. The scene helps make the firm a place where colleagues notice and support one another.
